Our Services
Citizens Statewide Security, Inc. is locally owned and operated
Commercial & Residential burglar alarm systems / video surveillance cameras and recorders:
Basic Training!
We refer to this as “basic training” for two reasons, first, because it really does cover just a few basic, but important issues, which affect your burglar alarm systems performance. Let’s start by understanding that regardless of what company your service is with, all home security systems and video surveillance cameras are designed to do the same thing…capture surveillance video, report a burglary in progress, fire, medical or other emergencies at the instant they occur. Basic Training Reason number 2. is because we think our military men and women are just down-right AWESOME! They’re a perfect role model to pattern ourselves after by selflessly helping to service others with a few helpful pointers and tips without expectation of reward! We believe that everyone has the potential to learn new ideas and concepts, and like boot camp in the military we’re going to get your prepared, ready and knowledgeable so that your security alarm or surveillance camera system is no longer a bunch of intimidating foreign objects attached to your home!
- Beeping and other odd noises (could it be a smoke detector located near your keypad?)
- Not ready
- LowBattery
- Numbers Flashing Across Screen
- Alarm goes of but no one calls
- Can’t set my alarm
- Changing Phone Companies?
- Going On Vacation? (test your alarm one week before leaving)

Burglar Alarm Systems & Phone Companies
This is just a reminder. When you have phone company or cable company technicians in your home doing service work involving your phone lines, it is highly advisable that you contact your burglar alarm systems monitoring company and notify them of this fact. Then, ask them to assist you in testing your security alarm system before the phone technicians start. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU TEST YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE THAT START! The reason is simple. You need to know whether or not your burglar alarm system was working before the phone technicians started. This is because in too many cases, the SECURITY SYSTEMS PHONE CONNECTION MAY GET “BYPASSED” IN THE NEW WIRING AND YOUR BURGLAR ALARM WILL NO LONGER COMMUNICATE WITH THE CENTRAL STATION. Your surveillance cameras are no longer streaming your video camera system at your place of business or your home. This could be a disaster! The problem is that some of the cable companies that are taking over traditional phone services are “disconnecting” security alarm systems. To be more specific, they aren’t properly training the technicians. The technicians however are disconnecting the alarm from the new phone network with technologies that “bypass” the original, main incoming phone lines which are still wired to the “old” network. The solution is very simple, the new network technology needs to be “back-fed” to the “NID” located on the side of the house where the phones are originally wired, at which point, it will feed a “dial tone” throughout the “old” phone network as well as providing a new one. Your streaming surveillance camera or cameras will probably no longer stream surveillance images anymore for some of the same reasons. If your “box” (router/modem) was replaced, you’ll need someone to reconfigure your “new” box, to stream your surveillance camera through your new “router” (box).
With cable companies, the technology is simple: they use a single cable coming into your home with latches on to a “modem” probable near your computer. This single cable line coming into your home provides all of the cable companies services, including phone service, cable and internet (internet used for camera streaming) etc. but it “bypasses” the “old” phone lines. A good way to tell is simply to take a plug in phone that has a “jack” which “snaps” one end into the phone and the (we’re not talking about the AC power adapter here now) and plug it into one or more of the “wall jacks” around your home. If the cable company included your old phone network into it’s new system then you will hear a dial tone. Another way is simply to set off your burglar Alarm System and WAIT FOR THEM TO CALL YOU BACK! If you do not get a phone call in response to the alarm signal, odds are your system has been disconnected. If your surveillance cameras are not working, it’s probably a result of configuration changes made in your home router network. A simple call to your provider can remedy this as well, or you can call the pro’s! Citizens Statewide Security Inc.
Security Video Surveillance Cameras Lost your security camera images on your smart phone? Not even one camera showing up on your monitor? With residential theft, vandalism, and burglary on the rise, an inexpensive home surveillance camera or cameras can deter those camera shy thieves from picking up your packages from the front porch of your home. In many cases, your video surveillance camera may be off-line on your smart phone etc. due to your “ip” address changing. You can simply contact your internet provider and ask how to find your new “public IP” address and replace the old one in your phone app and you should see your security surveillance camera system come on line and start streaming you home over the internet again. The systems can be complicated, while at the same time as simple as a phone call to your camera system installer or internet service provider. Something else to check would be your power supply to your home surveillance camera system, is it plugged in? Did you find any “loose” or unplugged adapters? With our service dept, we can arrive at your home for a small travel fee, if your cameras were purchase somewhere besides Citizens Statewide Security Inc. We will give you a free estimate as to any camera system repairs needed to have your home camera system operational again. We work will all video surveillance camera systems and can establish remote viewing for a one time fee as well.
